Long, Slim, & Fitted: Sweater dresses are hot this fall! Wear it over tights, leggings, or skinny jeans with a chic pair of booties, and you’re ready for work or play. Add dimension and an extra shot of style with a belt at your natural waist or slung low. |

Warm, Rich Colors: Make a statement with color, and wrap up in sweaters woven from autumn’s awesome array - trees painted in golden orange, chocolaty chestnut and rich cranberry red; the sunset sky filled with multifaceted jewel tones of ruby, sapphire blue, and deep purples. |

Layers: Can’t pick your favorite sweater? Not a problem! Layer, layer, layer … did you get that? Layer! Not only do layers allow you to stylishly don more than just one of your favorite sweaters, they also help you manage temperatures because you can easily peel one or more off as it warms up. Layers work best with a fitted sweater underneath and a roomier cardi, wrap or slouchy sweater on top. |

Belted: Get a fresh new take on your classic sweaters by adding a belt. Take it from casual to elegant, safe to sassy, day to night, or anywhere in between. Belts create a waistline in a roomy cardigan or sweater and work best with more fitted or thinner fabric. |

Dramatic Neck: Cowl necks, or oversized turtlenecks, can create interest in an otherwise basic piece. It’s comfy chic! |

Cardigan: What can we say about cardigans? This charming button-up style has been a wardrobe staple forever. Long or short, 50s style or boyfriend, thick and chunky or thin and delicate, the options are endless. Wear them open, buttoned, belted or tied with pretty much anything in your winter wardrobe. |
Oversized: It’s all about the perfectly poised sassy slouch! The sweater shouldn’t be so big that it swallows you, but it’s meant to be roomier than normal, so it’s best to balance your proportions with a more fitted bottom. We love it with a polished pencil skirt, but leggings are also a great option for running errands, or even dressed up with heels for dinner.
Layered: We can’t say it enough - we love layers, and sweaters are no exception! Layer two or more lightweight sweaters, or throw a looser boyfriend cardi over a slimmer fitting 50’s style. CAbi’s Perfect Sweater looks long and lovely over a fitted V-neck with a Tube Sweater cummerbund.
Cardigan: Classic and charming, cardigans are a year round staple, perfect for layering over flowy blouses, your favorite tee, or even another sweater. A thin cardigan is an ideal extra layer to add a pop of color, and when it comes to business chic, cardigans are the new blazer!
Turtleneck: Turtlenecks are particularly perfect in the cooler months. Not only does this functional fashion provide an extra layer of warmth, it’s sleek and versatile too! Dress it up or down, with a pant or skirt, under a jacket or alone. A little tip — if you have a wide or round face, pull your hair up and add a pair of longer earrings or necklace to elongate your face and neck. We love adding a splash of panache with a silky scarf tied around the neck.
Sweaters are one of your wardrobe’s most versatile essentials. So whether it’s spring, summer, winter, or fall, let this style star shine in the sky of all occasions. Just look at how these three very different sweaters seamlessly span work, weekend, and date night fashions!

We can’t guarantee that all of these tips will work on all sweaters, but they’re a few of our tried and true …
Remove Wrinkles: Ironing works best, but be careful! Touching the fabric with an iron can flatten and stretch the fibers permanently, leaving an ugly shine. To avoid this clothing calamity, turn the sweater inside out and put a damp cloth (white, so the color won’t accidentally rub off on the item) between the garment and the iron. Gently press, lowering and lifting the iron rather than sliding it back and forth.
Stop the Shedding: Angora sweaters are lovely, but boy do they shed! A brief retreat with the frozen foods is all it takes to prevent the fuzzy knit from covering your new black pants (and everything else it touches!). Simply fold the sweater into a plastic zip-lock bag and place it in the freezer for three hours.
Stretch the Shrunken: As many of us know all too well, “dried and shrunken” often means the end of the road for a sweater. But there may be hope! It is possible to revive certain wool and cotton blends. If you are up to the challenge, soak the sweater in cool water and wring out the excess; lay it flat to dry and stretch it as much as you can with your hands or a hanger, being careful not to cause runs. There are no guarantees, but it’s definitely a good option as a last resort!
A Little Fabric Facelift: Pills or “fuzzies” are natural in the life of a sweater. Sweater or “pill” shavers can work wonders on an old sweater! Even a lint roller or piece of Velcro can remove excess lint and fuzzies with ease to leave your sweater feeling revived and ready to rock another season!
Repair a Pull: Don’t let one pesky pull ruin your sweater. With a large sewing needle, thread the pulled thread through to the other side of the sweater. Tie this into a knot on the inside, and no one will ever know.
Revise and Renew: Adding a broach, cluster of pins, or a belt is like a boost of caffeine to an old sweater. Throw on a few layers or tie a cardigan in the front and she’ll be like a whole new sweater!
