As our dedicated devotees will recall, a few weeks ago we reported a tantalizing tale of top trends for fall. CAbi’s Fall 09 Trends represent a myriad of personalities that evolved through the design process, and each polished profile is loaded with key trends of the season. As you’ve continued your mission to master the magnificent fashions of fall, flipping through fashion magazines, sneaking peeks of the runways, watching style shows, and of course studying CAbi trends and yours truly, one thing is crystal clear: there are certainly some fabulous features you won’t want to miss this season!

The Bold Color - Mixed in with the usual cast of characters returning for their autumn encore, bright bold colors are making a splash this fall! So brighten those winter days with a pop of purple or shock of citron!	Heavy Metal - Metal details like brass buttons, bold buckles and unexpected zippers are showing up everywhere this fall, so embrace the rock star within and indulge in a little heavy metal!
Structured Shoulders - Shoulder pads are back - and if you weren’t a fan of this trend the first time around, don’t worry; think of this season as the 80’s more stylish sister! This structured silhouette fashions femmed up menswear at its finest!	Leggings - Is it a pant? Is it a tight? No, it’s a luxurious legging! Fashion’s love affair with leggings has carried over into fall - and we couldn’t be happier!
Plaids & Tweeds - Just another extension of the “borrowed from the boys” motif, masculine plaids and tweeds are mixed with feminine silhouettes for a chic and sophisticated classic with a twist!	Layers - Layers are functional fashion at its finest - showing off your sassy style while keeping you warm in the cooler autumn months. Flaunt your originality as you confidently create cool combinations! We love layers!

Scarf envy got you down? Looking at a closet full of scarves, with no way to wear them? Well cheer up, our fashionable friends. You too can be scarfalicious! We’ve got nine new ways for you to rock your wrap.

1 Halter Top

1. Wrap top two corners of the scarf around your neck and tie a knot with the ends.
2. Take the opposite two corners around your lower back, and tie a knot with the ends.
3. Style the front fabric as you please. Wear over tank, tee, or nothing.

2 Gypsy Headscarf

1. Fold scarf in half at a 45-degree angle so that it becomes a triangle.
2. Place the scarf at your hairline with the “triangle point” (formed when the two corners joined together by folding) facing down your back and the two ends by each ear.
3. Bring the two ends toward the back of your head and tie a knot, leaving the extra scarf from the point hanging under the knot.

3 Cummerbund

1. Open scarf and lay it completely flat.
2. Fold two diagonally opposite corners into the center of the scarf.
3. Then fold in half length-wise, so you now have a long, thin scarf with two diagonal ends. *Note: if starting with a long, thin scarf, begin with Step 3 or 4, depending on the desired width.
4. Wrap the folded scarf around the portion of your natural waist with the ends of the scarf at your back.
5. Tie the ends in a knot at your back, and leave ends hanging loose, or tucked into the cummerbund.

4 Neck Knot

1. Open scarf and lay completely flat.
2. Fold two diagonally opposite corners into the center of the scarf.
3. Then fold in half length-wise, so you now have a long, thin scarf with two diagonal ends. *Note: if starting with a long, thin scarf, begin with Step 3 or 4, depending on the desired width.
4. Wrap the scarf around your neck with the center of scarf at the back of your neck and the two ends coming around to the front
5. Tie the two ends in a knot either to the front or side of your neck, and let the remaining fabric hang.

5 Wrap / Faux Cardigan

1. Open scarf and lay it completely flat.
2. Fold it in half length-wise.
3. Tie the corners where the fabric that has been folded to meet together.
4. To wear, place your arms through the smaller openings at each end.
