As you can see, the Fall ’12 Collection is chock full of chic silhouettes that shine as the weather (and our wardrobes) are transitioning from summer to fall, and they work back beautifully with many of your spring style stunners too! So today, this stylish little songbird is treating you to a little inside scoop. We’re going behind the seams in the CAbi Design Room for the backstory on the top sellers so far this season, from silky cami’s to the perfect layer, and even some savvy sequels that were inspired by hits from the past.
This blouson silhouette is so feminine and fun, and when we found this beautiful, crimson-grounded, Moroccan-inspired print, we just knew they were meant to be together! We love creating something fresh and new for our customer, and with the cute band along the bottom, we think this piece is exactly that. Plus, we are thrilled that the profits from this gorgeous top benefit the amazing work that’s being done to help women around the world through The Heart of CAbi Foundation.
Every season we look at hundreds of prints, winnow it down to those we really love, and after much discussion, come up with the prints that will be the most relevant within the Collection as a whole. We were head over heels for this larger than life leopard! The colors and large-scale print make it look almost like a Rorschach inkblot test … and there was something about it that we all loved! After sampling a variety of silhouettes, this piece floated off the sewing machine and into the Design Room, and it was as if the clouds parted and the sun broke through! It had come together perfectly, and we knew we had a hit on our hands!
As we shared in our Layer It On Me video a few weeks ago, the Ballet Arm Warmers are on our must-have list this season! We love the look of 3/4 sleeve jackets, and with so many cute options in this Collection, we thought, “wouldn’t it be great if we could offer a sleeve too?!” And voila, the Ballet Arm Warmers were born. Modeled after true ballet arm warmers, you can almost channel that sleek, effortless grace when you slip these onto your arms.
Customers and our CAbi Home Office girls alike fell in love with last fall’s Slouch Tee, so we knew we had to bring it back in another colorway this season. The hanger cannot do this piece justice, as it’s one of those silhouettes that really comes to life on a body. The dreamy fabric collapses into the body for a very flattering shape, and the rich heathered chocolate perfectly complements the autumnal hues we layered throughout the Collection.
Clearly, the Circle Sweater was a hit in Spring ’12, and we know a few of you have at least two in your closet! So we couldn’t resist bringing back this perfect silhouette, but of course, we had to turn it up a style notch. The varied stich patterns and the richly colored and super-soft marled yarns were just the splash of special we were looking for to make this sweater absolutely fabulous!
