Pretty and Petite Stylist Advice from CAbi

A.Dear Pretty & Petite – we understand those looks can be challenging for our petite gals. Luckily, the palazzo pants are a very simple pant to hem! Wear them all winter long with your heels as a dressy option, and come summer change to a mid calf crop at your tailor. Pair them back to a fancy pair of flats and a soft white tee for comfy-chic look!

Indie Jacket Stylist Advice from CAbi

A.

My dear, the Indie Jacket just craves color! So give her what she wants! This jacket looks beautiful with the bright, happy pink of the Spring ’11 Bardot Jean, or the lively Limon Cropped Bree. Just be sure to ground it with another neutral! These happy colors will easily take you into the fall season in fun!

Social Butterfly Stylist Advice from CAbi

A.

Dear Social Butterfly – We love the look of a maxi for a summer cocktail party! Dress it up with a brightly colored cardigan – try the Resort Maxi with the Prepster Cardigan! If you need a more dressed up, chic ensemble, try the Palazzo Pant with the Waterfall Tank.

Breaking the Rules Stylist Advice from CAbi

A.Dear Breaking the Rules – We like it! First, let us say that this all depends on your place of business. Obviously, if you work as a banker, you should steer clear of jeans for work … unless you want to be mistaken for a person who does not work at said bank (smile!). However, if you work in a more relaxed office and want to rock some white jeans, we say go for it! Make them as professional as possible by pairing back to a shrunken blazer, like the ‘It’ Jacket, and a silky blouse, like the Woven Tee. Throw on some dressed-up flats, and go forth to work fierce in the work force!

Big and Tall Stylist Advice from CAbi

A. Excellent question! We think that a personal appointment can really work for a curvy girl so she feels comfortable and can get to know the CAbi fit so she understands that these clothes will fit her! Once she’s been able to see for herself in a safe, no-pressure environment, you can invite her to attend or host a CAbi Show so all of her friends can join in on the fashion and fun!

Willow Double Dress Stylist Advice from CAbi

A.Dear Dancing Queen – We think a shawl-type throw in an interesting texture such as linen would be gorgeous and summery! We would wear a high strappy sandal and layers of thin strand necklaces.

Cropped Bree Jean Stylist Advice from CAbi

A.Dear Lovely in Limon – Yes! Wear the Cropped Bree Jeans in Fall! Embrace the color! Be sure to pair them back to rich, textured sweaters in soft heather greys and oatmeal shades. These colors will neutralize the bright Limon color, and make them feel more “fall-ish.”

Tall Glass of Water Stylist Advice from CAbi

A.Dear Tall Glass of Water – This is a challenging question as fit is such a personal thing. I am tall and love shorter fitted jackets – even if they read almost too short or shrunken. The key to the shrunken look is to make sure your sleeves are long enough – then the look is really intentional and well proportioned. Make sure that any back belt is not too high – there are many instances where I have tailored the belt loops on my jackets to have the belt sit at a better proportion to my body. It’s worth a little extra to make a jacket look made for me!

Fancy Flats Stylist Advice from CAbi

A.
Well thanks, darlin’! We are loving “fancy flats”! Look for a little flat with some bling or an oversized bow and make sure they’re comfy. Also be sure to look for a neutral color such as tan or a taupey grey so you can wear them often and proudly!

Packing a Carry On for a Business Trip Stylist Advice from CAbi

A.This is always a bit of a parlor trick. We would recommend wearing your heaviest items on the plane – for example boots or heavy heeled sandals. Then for suiting, we always like to look chic on a plane ride. However, if you are on a long flight, comfort is key, so I would look for chic cozy separates that you can then mix into your work-a-day ensemble, all in a tiny carry on!
